Research integrity is displayed by a researcher who is acting and thinking in accordance with the norms of good scientific practice.
These norms include: honesty, transparency and accountability.
If research integrity does prevail among people involved in research this may undermine the trust in science, which in turn can have a number of very harmful consequences.
