Do you trust the data?

You are under severe time pressure. However, there is still one experiment left. It is just a standard measurement of background “noise” in the lab, which you need to subtract from some of your other measurements.

Unfortunately, it will still require you to spend two whole days in the lab, which you really instead need to spend writing your report.

You talk to another student who has done the exact same experiment already. She mentions that she had to redo it because she made a stupid mistake the first time, but she is happy with her second attempt.

She offers to give you a copy of her data. When you ask your supervisor, she says that you can use the data if you trust that it is reliable.

Do you accept the offer from the other student?
